Instagram account requirements for DMNexa
Check the account type, access, authorization, and message conditions needed to connect Instagram to DMNexa.
Use an Instagram professional account that you are authorized to manage, complete Meta’s authorization flow, and keep the connection active so supported messages can reach DMNexa.
Before connecting, confirm the following:
- The Instagram account is a supported professional account used for the business.
- You can sign in to the Meta account that is allowed to manage it.
- You understand and approve the permissions Meta displays.
- The account is in good standing and can use professional messaging features.
- Browser pop-ups or in-app authorization are not blocked during connection.
Why authorization is required
Meta controls access to Instagram account and message data. DMNexa cannot connect by accepting your password or by using only the public username. You must complete Meta’s authorization and choose the correct professional account.
What connection enables
An active connection allows supported incoming and outgoing conversation events to be processed for the DMNexa inbox. The exact history available depends on what DMNexa has received and what Meta allows; connection should not be treated as an unlimited import of every message ever sent.
If the account does not appear
Check that you signed in with the correct Meta identity and that the Instagram account is professional and managed by that identity. Then close the authorization window, return to DMNexa, and try again.
If Meta shows a permission or account-management error, resolve it in Meta first. DMNexa support cannot override Meta account ownership or security checks.
Frequently asked questions
Can I connect a personal Instagram account?
DMNexa's connected business messaging workflow requires a supported Instagram professional account. Convert the account in Instagram if Meta makes that option available to you.
Do I give DMNexa my Instagram password?
No. You authenticate directly with Meta and approve the permissions shown in its authorization flow.
