Reconnect Instagram when authorization expires
Restore an expired or interrupted Instagram connection and verify that new supported messages reach DMNexa again.
Open More, go to Connect, choose the reconnect action for Instagram, complete Meta authorization again, and verify the connection is active with a new test message.
If DMNexa shows Instagram as expired, disconnected, or needing attention, authorize the account again.
Reconnect
- Open More → Connect.
- Find the Instagram card.
- Select Reconnect or the available connection action.
- Sign in through Meta with the identity that manages the correct professional account.
- Review and approve the permissions shown.
- Return to DMNexa and confirm the status becomes active.
If Meta presents several accounts, verify the username before approving.
Test the restored connection
Send a new message to the professional account from a separate Instagram user. Wait briefly, refresh Messages, and open the conversation.
Reconnection restores authorization for new supported events. It may not import every message sent while the connection was inactive.
If reconnection keeps failing
Confirm that the Instagram account is still professional and that your Meta identity still has management access. You can also sign out of Meta in the browser and retry to avoid choosing a cached, incorrect account.
When contacting support, include the public Instagram username, the exact error, device and app/browser version, and approximate failure time. Never include your password.
Frequently asked questions
Why can an Instagram connection expire?
Meta authorization can require renewal after security changes, permission changes, account changes, revocation, or other platform events.
Will reconnecting restore every missed message?
Reconnecting restores the path for supported events going forward but cannot guarantee that every event from an inactive period will be backfilled.
