Add income or an expense to Wallet
Record a sale or cost, choose status, category, currency, date, payee, order link, receipt, quantity, and unit where applicable.
Open Wallet, choose Add Income or Add Expense, enter the real total and status, add the relevant context, then save. Expense quantity and unit can support per-unit costing without changing the total paid.
Add the transaction
- Open Wallet.
- Choose Add Income or Add Expense.
- Enter a category and the real total amount.
- Verify currency and status.
- Add the transaction date and an optional note.
- Link an order or identify the payee when relevant.
- For an expense, add a receipt, quantity, and unit if useful.
- Save.
Currency
The form starts with the seller’s default currency. If you choose another supported currency, DMNexa converts it to the default currency for balance math using the available exchange-rate service while preserving the original amount and currency on the entry.
Quantity and unit
For a bulk expense, amount remains the total paid. Example: enter $300, quantity 1,000, and square feet. DMNexa can show $0.30 per square foot as a check.
An expense with unit information can later become a cost source in Shopify Products & Costing.
Fashion boutique examples
- For a cash-on-delivery order, add or keep the expected income as Pending until the business actually receives the collection.
- If an employee pays a delivery or packaging expense personally, select that employee as the payee and leave the expense pending until the business repays them.
- For bulk material, enter the real invoice total plus its quantity and unit. Do not replace the total with the calculated unit price.
Wallet does not automatically reconcile courier statements, cash drawers, Shopify fees, or bank deposits. Update entries from verified business records.
Receipts and financial records
Receipt upload helps attach evidence to the operational entry. Wallet does not replace required bookkeeping, tax, or accounting records.
Frequently asked questions
What amount should I enter for a bulk expense?
Enter the real total paid. Quantity and unit describe what that total purchased; DMNexa shows the calculated per-unit amount separately.
What does Pending mean?
Pending income is expected but not received; a pending expense represents money still owed or not settled under the recorded workflow.
